The sustainability and long term growth of the Kenyan specialty coffee industry is being driven by producers like those from the New Murarandia Farmers Cooperative Society who engage with leading agribusiness organisations like Coffee Management Services to improve their skills and practices in sustainable farming. This shift to professional farming results in better farm management which leads directly to higher quality, greater efficiency and higher prices - improving their environmental, social and economic sustainability. The Gatuya Factory processes coffee cherry from 1250 local farmers, who are all part of the Cooperative.
